IMPORTANT NOTES
Some of the text files included with this program include a special
character that looks like ''. This character is not a mistake, but it is
useful when printing documents because it tells your printer to start a
new sheet of paper. The file MANUAL.TXT contains lots of these so that
you get a clearer manual when you print it out, and REGISTER.TXT uses
these characters to split the order form.
DISPLAYING TEXT FILES
To display any of the .TXT files included with this program, just type the
following at the DOS prompt: 'TYPE C:\GUITAR\NOTE.TXT | MORE'. Of course,
the exact form of the command depends on which file you wish to read, and
in which directory it is stored. Also, the '|' character is generated by
holding down a SHIFT key, and then pressing the key just to the left of
'Z'.
INSTALLATION
To install Guitarist's Toolbox, just make sure this disk is in any disk
drive. Then perform the following:
* Type the letter of the drive containing the program disk followed by
a colon, eg. 'A:' or 'B:'. Press <ENTER>.
* Type 'INSTALL progdiskdrive: targetdrive:'. Where 'progdiskdrive is
exactly the same as the previous command, and 'targetdrive' is the
drive letter of your hard disk followed by a colon. Press <ENTER>.
Sub-directories can be named in the progdiskdrive argument ONLY. For
example, if the program files are stored on drive A:, in a directory
called TOOLBOX, you could type
INSTALL A:\TOOLBOX C:
By default, the Toolbox files are copied to a directory called GUITAR on
the targetdrive.
* Note that if you are intending to run Toolbox from a floppy disk,
this routine is unnecessary. Just switch to the directory on the
floppy disk that contains all the Toolbox files, and type GUITAR
followed by <ENTER>. You must do this every time you run Toolbox.
The procedure will be something like this:
A: <ENTER>
CD GUI_TOOL <ENTER> (Unnecessary if the files are in the root dir)
GUITAR <ENTER>
Examples:
A: Program disk in drive A:
INSTALL A: C: Install form A: to hard disk C:
B: Program disk in drive B:
INSTALL A: D: Install form D: to hard disk D:
